The Document You Get Before Any Deposit

This is the exact agreement Caldex sends, filled in with your specific order, before requesting a deposit — not after. Read it here first so nothing in the real one is a surprise.

How this actually happens: once we've agreed on a spec, condition, and price over text, we fill in a copy of this document with your details and send it to you. You reply confirming you've read and agree to it. Only then do we request the deposit through PayPal Goods and Services. Both of us keep the text thread and the filled-in copy as the record — there's no separate app or portal to lose track of.

Order Confirmation

The supplier receipt for this exact unit is forwarded to the buyer the same day the deposit clears.

The Terms, In Order

The deposit is paid through PayPal Goods and Services

No exceptions. This isn't a preference, it's the whole basis of the protection described here — it's the payment type that PayPal can reverse if the seller doesn't deliver.

The deposit locks in the specific unit and price above

Once the order confirmation is sent, Caldex is committed to sourcing and delivering that exact spec at that exact price, not a substitute.

If Caldex cannot deliver within the stated window, the full deposit is refunded automatically

The buyer does not need to request it, dispute it, or provide a reason. It happens because the window wasn't met.

The buyer inspects the physical unit in person before paying the balance

Not photos, not a phone call — the actual machine, in person, at the agreed pickup location, before the remaining money changes hands.

If the unit doesn't match this agreement, the full deposit is refunded on the spot

Wrong spec, undisclosed defect, doesn't power on — the buyer walks away with their deposit back and owes nothing further.

If the unit matches this agreement, the deposit becomes non-refundable at that point

It paid for Caldex to source and test that specific machine. A buyer who simply changes their mind after confirming the unit is exactly as agreed does not get the deposit back — that's the trade the deposit exists to make, and it's stated here before any money moves, not after.

The 7-day after-sale guarantee starts at pickup, not at order

If something disclosed as working fails within 7 days for a reason unrelated to how it was used, Caldex repairs or refunds it. Full detail: Sales Policy.

This is a plain-language agreement between two individuals in Texas, written to be read and understood without a lawyer — it is not a substitute for one. Texas Tech's student legal services office, available to enrolled students, is the real place to get a binding answer about your specific situation. Separately, the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act already prohibits a seller of used goods from concealing known defects, independent of anything written here.
