How do I buy a MacBook from Caldex Systems?

Do you have a website with live inventory?
Inventory changes frequently — units sell within hours of listing. The fastest way to see what's available right now is to text or email us. We'll send you everything currently in stock with photos and pricing immediately.
How do I pay?
We accept Venmo or cash (local DFW meetups only). Payment is made before the unit ships. We'll send you payment details once you decide which unit you want.
Can I pick up locally in Dallas / DFW?
Yes. We're based in Dallas and DFW local meetup is available at a safe public location. Text us to arrange. Local buyers can inspect the unit in person before paying — we encourage this.
Shipping
How fast does shipping take?
We ship within 1–2 business days from Dallas, TX. Most orders arrive in 2–5 business days depending on your location. We ship via USPS or UPS with full tracking.
Do you ship nationwide?
Yes. We ship to all 50 states. Free shipping on all orders.
How is the MacBook packaged?
Each MacBook ships in a double-wall box with foam padding on all sides. The charger is wrapped and packed separately. We've shipped hundreds of units with zero transit damage claims — the packaging is built for it, not improvised.
Will I get a tracking number?
Yes. We text or email your tracking number as soon as the label is created — before it's even dropped off at the carrier.
Condition & Quality
What battery health should I expect?
We don't sell MacBooks below 80% battery health without explicit disclosure. The exact battery percentage is listed in every unit description — not a range, not an estimate. The number you see is what you get. Battery cycle count is also available on request.
Is the MacBook iCloud locked?
No. Every MacBook we sell has been fully signed out of the previous owner's Apple ID and given a fresh macOS install. You set it up as brand new when you turn it on. We verify this before every listing.
When you first turn it on, you'll see the standard macOS setup screen — language selection — not someone else's Apple ID login. That's how you know it's properly cleared.
Are the listing photos of the actual unit?
Yes. Every photo in our listings is the exact MacBook you receive — not stock images, not a different unit that looks similar. We photograph the top lid, bottom case, keyboard, open display, both ports, any cosmetic flaws, and the battery health screen. What you see is what ships.
What does "Excellent," "Good," and "Fair" condition mean?
Excellent: Minimal cosmetic wear. Light scratches only under close inspection. Screen is clean. Keyboard shows no significant fading. Battery health 85%+.
Good: Normal use wear. Light scratches on lid or bottom case visible without inspection. Minor keyboard fading on common keys. Battery health 80–84%.
Fair: Visible cosmetic wear including scratches or scuffs. Heavier keyboard fading. Battery health 75–79% (disclosed explicitly). All functional components work. Cosmetic condition clearly photographed and described.

What's included with the MacBook?
Every MacBook includes a working charger. MacBook Air M1 and M2 units include a USB-C charger (61W or 67W depending on the unit). We don't include the original box — you're paying for the machine, not the packaging.
Warranty & Returns
Do you offer a warranty?
All sales are final and sold as-is — no manufacturer warranty, no Apple Care. This is how we keep prices 40–60% below new.
What we do offer is our Arrives-As-Described Guarantee: if your MacBook arrives dead on arrival or is materially different from what was listed (wrong model, wrong specs, undisclosed major defect), report it within 48 hours of delivery and we'll make it right — replacement or full refund.

Can I return a MacBook if I change my mind?
No. All sales are final. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted. We encourage you to ask every question before you buy — we'd rather answer ten questions now than have any surprises after. If you're unsure about a model or spec, ask us before purchasing.
What if the MacBook arrives damaged from shipping?
We photograph every unit before packing and ship in reinforced packaging. Transit damage is rare but can happen. If your MacBook arrives damaged from the carrier, contact us immediately with photos of the box and the unit. We'll assist you in filing a carrier claim and advocate on your behalf.
What if a key stops working after I receive it?
Every key is tested before shipping. If a key fails after delivery for a reason unrelated to how the unit was described, contact us — we'll assess on a case-by-case basis. Damage caused after delivery (liquid, drops) is not covered.
Technical Questions
Will macOS software updates work on a refurbished MacBook?
Yes. macOS updates are tied to the hardware, not the original owner. As long as your model is supported by Apple's current macOS release, you'll receive updates normally. M1 MacBook Airs (2020) are expected to be supported through at least 2028–2029. Intel MacBooks from 2018–2020 have a shorter support timeline.
Can I add Apple Care to a refurbished MacBook?
No. Apple Care can only be added to MacBooks purchased directly from Apple or an authorized reseller within 60 days of purchase. Third-party warranty services (SquareTrade, etc.) are available separately and can be added after purchase.
Will the MacBook be set up when I receive it?
No — it ships with a fresh macOS install, ready for you to set up as your own. When you turn it on, you'll walk through the standard Apple setup process (language, Apple ID, preferences). This takes about 10 minutes. We prefer this over shipping it partially configured — you get a clean machine and set up your own preferences from scratch.
Is 8GB RAM enough for college?
For most college students — yes. Writing, browsing, Zoom, light photo editing, coding in most languages, Canva, Spotify — all run fine on 8GB with the M1 or M2 chip. The unified memory architecture on Apple Silicon makes 8GB feel faster than 8GB on a comparable Intel system.
Consider 16GB if: you run Docker containers regularly, do heavy video editing, or use virtual machines (Parallels, VMware). For most students, 8GB is the right call at the right price.

How do you decide what to pay for a MacBook?
We look at the model, year, chip, RAM, storage, battery health, and cosmetic condition. We'll give you a fair number based on what it can actually sell for — we're not trying to lowball, we just need margin to test, prep, and resell.
